How often can I come to SnowCap?
You can come twice a year, then you would need a referral.
What is a referral?
A
referral is a letter written by a helping professional on their
letterhead explaining that the client would benefit by monthly visits.
Helping Professionals are public health nurses, doctors, caseworkers,
counselors, pastors, etc.
Can I get help with diapers and formula?
Yes,
we usually have sizes 1 thru 6 in diapers, and formula for babies 12
months and younger. They are available to a family 2 times a year.
What do I need to bring to get assistance?
You need to bring proof of address (mail addressed to you within the last 30 days.)
Can you help with rent, moving expenses and gas vouchers?
We do not have the budget for these expenses. Please call 211 at (503) 222-5555 for possible suggestions.
Can you help with prescriptions?
We have a very limited budget for prescriptions. Give us a call at (503) 674-8785 ext 13.
Can you help me with utilities?
We may have funding available in the winter for emergency assistance.
Can you help me with food stamps and the Oregon Health Plan?
There
will soon be an online food stamp (SNAP) application that you can use
at the SnowCap office. For right now, try oregonhelps.org
Where can I get a shower?
We do have a shower facility that is available from 10 am to 12:30 pm, Monday thru Friday on most days. Photo ID is required.
I am looking for work, can you help with professional clothes (or any adult clothes)?
We do not have adult clothing here. Try Helping Hands on 99th & Glisan.
