Volunteer Time!

Volunteer application.pdf

Volunteers are the core of the SnowCap organization.  With only 10 staff and 1100 volunteers, it is plain that most of the work is done by volunteers.  Opportunities are varied and flexible.  Contact Kari @ 503.674.8785 ext. 37 or kari@snowcap.org to find out about current opportunities. Fill out your volunteer application ahead of time. You can either email the application to Kari, mail to SnowCap, or you can bring in person to the SnowCap office. See application above. Let her know if you have something particular in mind.

Volunteers drive trucks, operate computers, interview people, pack food boxes, do food drives, do public speaking, write newsletter articles, serve on committees, and work special events like the annual auction.  And there are volunteer opportunities we haven't even thought of yet.  Tell us what you'd like to do.

Volunteering is a great way to brush up skills in preparation for paid employment.  It is also a good way to make new friends who share your interests and values.  Some volunteer jobs are so active you can skip your gym membership.  Other volunteer jobs can be done sitting down the whole time.

Volunteering is the American way to improve circumstances.  If you think your circumstances could be improved, try volunteering.  If you think our community could be improved, try volunteering.  If you think it is wrong for people to go hungry in America, try volunteering.

It works!
