Community Garden

The SnowCap Community garden (located on the west side of the SnowCap warehouse) has 45 raised bed plots that are topped off each year with compost.   Low income families can raise their own vegetables with seeds, starts, water, greenhouse space provided.   Applications are taken each spring and clients are asked to sign a contract before gardening.   A Basic Garden class is offered each year using the “Seed to Supper” curriculum developed by the Oregon Food Bank as well as other classes by outside speakers.   Oregon State Extension Service offers canning classes during the summer and fall.
